Costume College Gala 2018
I made a big floofy dress. Friends tell me that this is remarkably structured for an 18th century gown, but I worked very very hard to make it even this fluffy. 😂my true talents lay in the overwrought and the severe.
Luckily, my talented friend Lauren over at Wearing History is a master of the floof, and she coached me through the process and then even decorated my stomacher for me. And then she shot these portraits of me. Not bad for a gray hotel hallway!
I used The American Duchess Guide to 18th Century Dressmaking and companion patterns Simplicity 8578 and 8579. Maybe? I’ll do some dress diary posts sometime about making the thing.
